One of the pet diseases of the rainy season: Canine Distemper.
Canine distemper is caused by paramyxovirus and is a viral disease that can affect any dog, especially puppies and unvaccinated dogs.
The virus can spread through direct contact with an infected dog, through the dog’s fur, food, a bowl of water, sneezing and coughing. Moreover, mothers can pass the virus to their puppies if she is unvaccinated or other dogs that have no immune.
Symptoms of Canine Distemper are as follows:
Conjunctivitis, eye discharge, runny nose
Sneezing & coughing
Difficulty in breathing
Vomiting & diarrhea
High fever
Loss of appetite
Lethargy
Skin sores
thick nose and soles
paralysis of the muscles
